AKASHA was founded by Mihai Alisie, who co-founded Ethereum in 2013 and created Bitcoin Magazine in 2011 with Vitalik Buterin.

The AKASHA Foundation develops systems that enable freedom of mind and human connection. We explore the web3 space with innovative social infrastructure experiments utilizing blockchain and decentralized storage technologies. The Foundation continually champions projects that enable people to have more autonomy over their data and the content they create, supporting free expression, privacy, and secure communications.
